Skills Workshop:
"Alert Hypnosis and Anxiety Management"
Presenter: Max Shapiro, PhD

This Skills Workshop will teach an eyes-open, alert, grounding Trance State.

This trance state is the "fraternal twin" to the trance state all of us learn when first studying hypnosis. The "relaxation response" trance state is inwardly focused and aims to achieve maximal relaxation and the lowest levels of physiological activation. In contrast, the trance state to be taught in the this Skills Workshop is outward-oriented, eyes wide open, and has an arousal level high enough to promote optimal performance. This state is extremely useful for patients who want to manage dissociative symptoms. It is also the trance state which forms the basis for optimal peak performance in athletics, academics (test taking), and other performance situations. We consider this trance state to be a necessary foundational skill for all clinicians utilizing hypnosis.

Regular Tuition Cost: $75

Early Bird Tuition Cost (available until January 5, 2014): $65

*To take advantage of the reduced rate, email Max Shapiro

**Regular tuition can be paid on the day of the workshop by check made payable to NESCH.
