"Inviting the Muse: Trance Enhancement of Creativity"
Presenter: Carol Ginandes, Ph.D., ABPP

For centuries, and across cultures, artists of various disciplines have tapped into altered states of awareness to access the imagination and to enhance creativity. In this interactive session, the presenter who is both a professional psychologist and a visual artist, will share some of the strategies she finds helpful in clinical practice and well as in the pursuit of personal projects. The presentation will include didactic and experiential components.

Carol Ginandes, Ph.D. is a health psychologist /hypnotherapist practicing in Watertown. She has holds staff appointments at McLean Hospital and at Harvard Medical School .Her published mind/ body audio programs include the following topics: deeply renewing power napping, preparation for surgery, recovery from injury, reducing allergic reactivity and regulating hypertension. Dr. Ginandes is also a visual artist whose works have been collected by individual collectors, galleries and museums. See www.carolginandes.com





Directions 
Newton-Wellesley Hospital is located at 2014 Washington Street, Newton, Massachusetts, near the intersection of Routes 16 & 128 (I-95), one mile south of the Mass. Pike (I-90).

From West of Route 128 (I-95)
Take Mass. Pike to Route 128 (I-95). Proceed South on 128 (I-95) for less than one mile. Take exit 21/21A to Route 16 East. Proceed on Route 16 East 1/4-mile to the Parking Garage at the second hospital entrance on the right (2000 Washington Street).

Coming from Boston
Take Mass. Pike to Exit 16 (West Newton). Follow Route 16 West for 1-1/4 miles to Parking Garage Entrance on left (2000 Washington Street).

From North or South Route 128 (I-95)
Take Exit 21/21A to Route 16 East. Proceed on Route 16 East 1/4 mile to the Parking Garage at the second hospital entrance on the right (2000 Washington Street).

MBTA
Take Green Riverside line (D Train), outbound, to Woodland stop. Walk out to Washington Street and turn left. Hospital is two short blocks on the left.
