  • 10:00 AM - 12:59 PM
  • Allen Riddle Hall, Newton Wellesley Hospital

Hypnosis can play an integral role when teaching children and family members how to help themselves increase comfort, heal, and empower themselves. Whether in a private practice office or hospital setting, there are myriaf applications where the integration of a hypnotic intervention and the teaching of self-hypnosis provide a significant advantage in the treatment experience for kids, families, and staff as well. Dr. Deutsch will provide an overview of pediatric hypnosis, followed by several video presentations of children helped by hypnosis.  The multi-media presentations will include the integration of pediatric hypnosis in a variety of challenging situations experienced by kids and their family members, including sleep difficulty, attentional difficulty, anxiety and pain management, palliative care, and end-of-life care.
