Dear Colleagues and Friends,
I hope you have been weathering these unusual and unprecedented times with the flexibility, common sense and compassion that are signature of the hypnosis community. I cannot recall a time when these qualities were in greater demand.
It was wonderful to see so many of you at the July and September workshops. I missed the connection and exchange during the first few months of the pandemic, when workshops were on hold as NESCH and the world at large mustered to catch our second wind. Unfortunately, the annual Basic Workshop was a casualty of COVID-19. The board supported our training director’s conclusion, that teaching hypnosis skills to practitioners new to the modality did not lend itself to a virtual format. We anticipate that the Basic will be back on track by fall of 2021.
Moving forward, we have two excellent webinars scheduled for November and January, Integrating Hypnosis with Mindfulness Meditation and Transforming Traumatic Memories with Hypnosis and Memory Reconsolidation, respectively.
Please see below.
We regret that the in-person Advanced Training with Mark Jensen for January 2021 has been suspended for public health reasons. An online form of this workshop unfortunately is not being offered. However, Dr. Jensen has agreed to be our Advanced speaker for May of 2022, date to be announced.
Consistent with lessons from COVID in other areas of our lives, we have been able to use this as an opportunity to line up another outstanding practitioner and teacher, Laurence Sugarman, for the winter Advanced Workshop. In the interest of managing zoom fatigue, this will be an 8 hour workshop divided over two days.
See below for specifics.
Level II (Intermediate) workshop in Clinical Hypnosis will be held on two weekends on 13-14 and March 20-21, 2021. It will be held either virtually or in person depending on virus/health conditions. Program is 20 hours, and will be held as 6 hour days over 2 weekends. Cost: $525 non-members, $450 members, $210 for students.
Stay tuned for updates.
We have booked Carolyn Daitch, PhD for the 64th Annual Rev. Thomas W. Martin Advanced Workshop in Clinical Hypnosis scheduled for May 1 and 2, 2021. Dr. Daitch is the Director of the Center for the Treatment of Anxiety Disorders, Farmington Hills, Michigan. She is the author of The Road to Calm Workbook, Anxious in Love, Anxiety Disorders: The Go-to Guide For Clients and Therapists and Affect Regulation Toolbox.
Details to be announced.
You may notice a sense of curiosity and anticipation as you consider these offerings. Please spread the word!
