Dear Colleagues,

The NESCH Board is very pleased to announce the election of Kaloyan Tanev M.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at
Harvard Medical School, as President-Elect for 2017- 2018. He will become
President in June of 2018.


Dr. Tanev is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a Diplomate in Neuropsychiatry through the United Council of Neurological Subspecialties, and a Fellow of the American Neuropsychiatric Association. Dr. Tanev is currently Director of Clinical Neuropsychiatric Research at Massachusetts General Hospital. He has conducted research and published research articles on Huntington’s Disease, Sleep in dementia, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Traumatic Brain Injury. Dr. Tanev has also published and presented nationally and internationally on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Autonomic Nervous System Diseases, Migraine Headaches, Dementia, and Dreams  and other topics. He also maintains a psychotherapy private practice in Boston.


Besides his wealth of experience in clinical neuropsychiatry and in research, Dr. Tanev has been developing expertise in clinical hypnosis for over the past 15 years. He has trained at ASCH, NESCH and at the Milton H. Erickson Institute.  Dr. Tanev has been a member of NESCH since 2005 and has, over the past ten years,  attended many of the NESCH workshops.
